Intern in Harrisburg for the Semester

Are you still considering an internship in Harrisburg for this semester? The Harrisburg Internship Semester (THIS) is looking for Bloomsburg University students that hope to be involved in public policy practice. Students will learn the dynamics of state government through direct involvement in report and speech writing, research, and program design and evaluation.

If you are interested in being considered for THIS you must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have at least 45 undergraduate hours completed at the time of application. THIS will be considering juniors and seniors for the internship.

Those students accepted by THIS will earn 15 credits for the internship experience, including nine for the internship placement experience, three for completing an individualized project and three for participation in a weekly seminar.

Interns selected for THIS are responsible for the payment of all campus based charges (like tuition) and the housing expenses in Harrisburg for the semester. However, Bloomsburg University will award financial assistance to the intern in the form of a $5,500 stipend.

You can apply to THIS online or contact Dr. Jessy Defenderfer (jdefende@bloomu.edu) in the Department of Political Science if you have any questions or hope to be considered. The deadline for application is Monday Oct. 17.
