Huskies Intern: A Semester in the Nation's Capitol

Troy's biggest highlight of his summer internship was getting
the opportunity to meet his role model, Speaker of the House
Paul Ryan.
Troy Cannon, a Russian major, hopes to one day land the position of United States Secret Service Agent-- he's already on the right track towards this job as he recently interned for Pennsylvania Congressman Robert Brady on Capitol Hill last summer.

Cannon knew that he was looking for something big with an internship for the summer of 2016, especially in government, so he appreciated this experience and all the tasks and assignments he was responsible for.

By undertaking the internship, Cannon not only got an insight to his future career, he also was able to use his Russian language skills four times. He is grateful to the Language Department at Bloomsburg University for giving him the confidence and motivation to learn another language.

“Being at my internship made me proud to be a BU student, because everyone I worked with and met were all ivy league students,” Cannon said, “It showed me that I am just as good as them!” Full story
