Summer is the perfect opportunity to expand your professional development and career experiences through an internship. Participating in an internship is an awesome way to confirm your interests or decide a line of work you want to go into, learn from professionals in the field and begin networking for your post- graduation career.
Many students participate in internships the summer after their sophomore and junior years, but the earlier you start, the more opportunities you have for growth and professional development in your desired field of work. Freshman soccer player, Evan Novian, decided to spend his summer before entering Bloomsburg University by interning with Exelon Corporation in Baltimore, Maryland.
When Evan heard that Exelon had started taking a few high school interns, he immediately put together a resume and applied for the position to work on their Cyber Vulnerability Detection and Management team. Evan compared being on the team at Exelon to being on the soccer team. He also gained crucial experience and information about a setting he could potentially end up working in.
